ISSER's Inc. - FOUNDING MEMBERS

ISSER WAS FOUNDED IN 1996, BY THREE NGO REPRESENTATIVES AT THE UN

MRS. KWANI HUARAKA (NAMIBIA);

Mrs ALASEBU SELASSIE ( ETHIOPIA)

Mrs. MARIA ARIAS-ZEBALLOS (ARGENTINA)

Each of these UN-NGO representatives, having made numerous contributions on issues of Women, Education, The Girl Child, and Environment, had years of experience on these issues, at the international level.

At the time, (1994-1995) not for profit, developmental, organizations frequently focused on one issue of concern as opposed to comprehensive solutions to eradicate poverty. The issues of Women living in poverty, were still not easily linked with environmental concerns. Convinced of the intrinsic interrelationship and relevance of the three pronged dimension of development: social, economic and environmental aspects, ISSER  focused on the need to provide holistic, integrative, responses to alleviate poverty in the world.  ISSER, Inc.  was granted status as a not for profit organization in 1996.
